4 people were seriously injured by projectiles this morning, March 3, 2021, in Ganthier in an armed attack perpetrated by bandits grouped under the name “400 mawozo”. The bus carrying these people was due to travel to the Dominican Republic.

While contested President Jovenel Moïse stubbornly insists on initiating a referendum on a new constitution, the insecurity machine is in full swing both in the Port-au-Prince metropolitan area and in other provincial towns. Bandits are acting as they please in full view of the “authorities concerned”.

According to information gathered by the newspaper, the driver of the vehicle was forced to turn off the engine. When the driver refused to cooperate, the thugs fired live ammunition into the vehicle, endangering the lives of the driver and all the passengers. The 4 injured people, including two women and two men, are currently in hospital in the commune of Fond-Parisien, receiving treatment for their injuries.

Kidnapping, hold-ups and armed attacks are just some of the cases that have been reported daily by the Haitian population since Jovenel Moïse’s accession to the supreme office of the state, accused of violating article 134-2 of the constitution, which states that his term of office has come to an end.
