A “war budget” against the Haitian people

Date:

The state uses law enforcement agencies against its own citizens instead of tackling the gangs that terrorize the country.

Far from aiming to free neighborhoods from the clutches of bandits, recent operations have been deployed to suppress peaceful demonstrations demanding the right to security, a right guaranteed by the Constitution.

The State is absent in the face of gang violence, showing that the real war is not against these criminals, but against the Haitian people themselves.

This “war budget” announced by the authorities seems designed more to muzzle the voices of distress than to protect citizens.

People need a protective state.

Safety is an inalienable right which, as long as it is ignored, will fuel the legitimate anger of the people.
