Alix Didier Fils-Aimé’s drones, an ineffective “political bluff” in the fight against banditry

The Primature’s use of explosive drones against armed gangs had raised hopes among the population. However, by politicizing his approach and excluding the Haitian National Police from the task force in charge of using these technological devices, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé has given pure and simple proof of a so-called leader who is merely showing off. So, pure “political bluff”.

What are Alix Didier Fils-Aimé’s drones worth in the fight against armed gangs? Obviously nothing. In fact, the Prime Minister’s Office uses drones only to mislead the Haitian people, who expect nothing more than the return of peace and security to the country. But the reality is, the so-called authorities are ignoring this crucial and real need of citizens.

Today, it’s sad to see that Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé only uses drones to play politics. Every time a popular demonstration against insecurity is announced, the task force detonates a drone in one place or another, with little result and no real death toll in the enemy camp. The truth is that the use of drones today is designed to discourage citizens from denouncing this government, whose incompetence and incapacity no longer need to be demonstrated.
