In a press release issued by the Primature, it is announced that the Prime Minister, Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, is visiting the South Department this Wednesday morning, May 7, 2025, as part of an official mission focusing on local security. Reacting to this announcement, informed observers fear that this is just another bluff.
“This trip is part of a strategic approach aimed at activating the Cellules de Sécurité Municipales (CSM), an innovative mechanism designed to reinforce proximity security, in close collaboration with local authorities and the population”, informed the Primature. Some are wondering why the head of government, in his capacity as number one of the Conseil supérieur de la police nationale, did not make the trip with the Director General of the PNH. As long as the tug-of-war between Alix Didier Fils-Aimé and the PNH continues, any attempt to restore security to the country will be a lost cause.
“Working together, at all levels, to restore peace, strengthen local governance and build a sustainable response to insecurity”, the communiqué preaches, reaffirming the government’s commitment to dialogue, consultation and proximity with the population, in order to respond effectively to the security challenges of the moment. This, astute observers insist, is preaching in total opposition to example, since the Primature and the DGPNH do not mix well.
