Haiti’s presidential advisors: between opulence and disconnection

Date:

It is essential to highlight the disconnect between Haiti’s presidential advisors and the desperate reality of the population.

At a time when the country is going through a deep crisis, these advisors, who received 5 million gourdes over the holiday period, seem more concerned with their own comfort than with the well-being of Haitians, who are faced with failing governance and growing crime.

The decision to grant golden pensions to these elites, as well as to former general managers often accused of corruption, is arousing legitimate indignation among the general public.

This indecent opulence reveals an alarming social divide and raises ethical questions about the role of leaders.

It is crucial that the voices of the people be heard and that far-reaching reforms be implemented to restore justice and equity in Haiti.

The elites must realize their responsibility and act for the common good.
