Haiti: A diplomatic trompe-l’œil

Date:

The Haitian Diplomatic Courier of March 2025 hides a grim reality: the gap between official promises and national emergencies is alarming.

International meetings often boil down to vague promises, while the USA and CARICOM insist that “solutions must come from Haitians”, thus avoiding any real commitment.

Le Courrier mentions elections in 2025, but with 80% of the capital controlled by gangs, the credibility of this process is in doubt.

What’s more, the Multinational Security Support Mission (MMAS) seems futile in the face of broken promises from the international community.

Haiti deserves diplomacy that goes beyond rhetoric and translates into concrete action.
