DCPJ: The investigation that reveals elite complicity with organized crime

Date:

Today’s Haiti is faced with a dark and alarming reality, illustrated by the in-depth investigation carried out by the Direction Centrale de la Police Judiciaire.

The charges brought against public figures such as Magalie Habitant and Prophane Victor reveal a complex network of complicity with criminal gangs, notably the “Viv Ansanm” coalition.

These personalities, supposedly at the service of the community, seem instead to fuel violence and insecurity in Haiti.

The acts of assassination, kidnapping and arms trafficking that mark the path of these individuals highlight the scale of the challenge facing the country.

By bringing the defendants to justice, the authorities are paving the way for accountability and transparency, but there is still a long way to go to restore citizens’ trust in their leaders.

The fight against impunity must be a priority in order to restore hope to a wounded nation.
