The rot was already in the fruit, but this time, a member of the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) openly admits it, sensing that the ship is taking on water. In a letter dated Monday, June 16, 2025, Frinel Joseph, a councilor and man of faith, delivers a candid assessment of the deep dysfunction plaguing the transitional governing body.
In this correspondence addressed to his colleagues, Frinel Joseph publicly acknowledges, for the first time, the extent of the paralysis within the CPT, which he attributes in part to the arrival of Fritz Alphonse Jean as president. According to him, the atmosphere has deteriorated, marked by internal power struggles, mutual accusations among voting members, and an almost complete standstill in the institution’s operations.
“We are wasting precious time while the country sinks,” Frinel Joseph essentially says, belatedly deciding to speak out, noting that only eight months remain for the CPT as per the deadline set by the April 3, 2024 agreement.
Despite its tardy and self-serving nature, Frinel Joseph’s call serves as both a warning and an olive branch. He urges his colleagues to resolve their disputes, overcome divisions, and return to work in the interest of the country.
