As one of the key institutions providing care for the victims of the earthquake on August 14, 2021, Saint Boniface Hospital has received a donation of US$50,000 from the Digicel Foundation. For the umpteenth time, this foundation is reaching out to victims in Haiti.

Within hours of the earthquake, Saint Boniface Hospital was urgently evacuating the injured. The Digicel Foundation believes that this donation will enable this health institution to better fulfill its mission.

Located in Fond-des-blancs, Saint Boniface Hospital is ranked among the best hospitals in the region. It is better equipped, with extensive surgical and emergency capabilities to care for a large number of patients. In relation to the number of earthquake victims, this hospital is better equipped to care for the injured, according to the health authorities.

“The institution is also providing essential medicines and resources to hospitals in other cities hard hit by this disaster,” the cell phone company said in a note.

The Foundation considers it timely and urgent to join forces with heroes in the health sector to facilitate their work, it continued in the note.

The Digicel Foundation’s mission is to renew its commitment to supporting communities in their most difficult times.

The company nevertheless expressed its solidarity with the victims of this devastating earthquake, adding that this initiative was in addition to others already undertaken by the company.
