On Thursday August 26, 2021, the Champions League draw took place in Istanbul, for the 2021-2022 season. Paris Saint-Germain shares Group A with Manchester City of England, RB Leipzig of Germany and Club Bruges of Belgium.
Argentinian star Lionel Messi, legendary Real Madrid defender, Moroccan nugget Hachraf Hakimi and Dutchman Georginio Wijrnaldum are among the Parisian outfit’s marquee recruits.
Manchester City are also in the process of strengthening their squad before the end of the mercato, with the recruitment of Cristiano Ronaldo in the offing, according to the “DailyMail”. Even with the presence of “Pulga” Messi, a match against the Citizens will be no easy task for the Parisians.
Compte tenude of RB Leipzig’s divorce from former coach Julian Nagelsmann and the departure of top defender Dayot Uppamecano left for Bayern Munich, the German club’s task would be very difficult.
Moreover, compared à the richness of the Manchester City, PSG and Leipzig, the chances of Club Brugge, Belgium’s sole representative in the next round, qualifying are slim.
Winning the Cup with the big ears remains a primary objective for the Parisian club since the arrival of the rich from Qatar, and with the presence of Lionel Messi, Neymar, Ramos, Marquinhos and Keylor Navas, expectations are increasingly high.
