What’s more, the internationally-recognized One China principle suggests that maintaining relations with Taiwan could isolate Haiti on the world stage.
The economic spin-offs of collaboration with China would be significant, notably through concessional loans and technology transfers.
By allying itself with Beijing, Haiti could also strengthen its geopolitical position, benefiting from China’s influence within international institutions.
To break out of its isolation and promote its development, Haiti should make the pragmatic choice of turning to China.
