Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele has issued a stern warning to armed gangs in Haiti following the disappearance of four Salvadoran nationals who remain missing. In a message posted in Haitian Creole on his X account on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, Bukele demanded their immediate and unconditional release, warning their captors of serious consequences if they continue to hold the four men hostage.
“Return our four compatriots alive and unharmed,” Bukele declared, demanding that the men be released without having suffered any mistreatment. His warning raised the possibility of an escalation if those responsible fail to comply.
