Meeting in ordinary session on Monday, the Council of Ministers, chaired by the President of the Conseil Présidentiel de Transition (CPT), Fritz Alphonse Jean, adopted an investment budget described as a “war budget”, in response to the multidimensional crisis the country is experiencing.
Indeed, of the 36 billion gourdes allocated to investment projects, a strategic distribution has been decided in order to meet current priorities:
37% of the budget is earmarked for strengthening the forces of law and order (National Police, Haitian Armed Forces, intelligence services and specialized equipment), in order to restore public security and combat armed groups threatening national stability; 17.24% is earmarked for border management and security projects, with a view to territorial control and orderly management of migratory flows; 16.43% is earmarked for priority social programs, notably in the fields of education, health, humanitarian assistance and support for vulnerable populations.
In a press release visited by Hebdo24, the Conseil Présidentiel de Transition stressed that this budget reflects the State’s firm determination to act decisively on the security, humanitarian and institutional fronts.

“It also marks an important stage in the implementation of the commitments made as part of the Transition, notably the restoration of security, the relaunch of public services and the preparation of the electoral process,” the document continues.
