It’s no secret that the nine (9) members of the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT) are incompetent and unable to resolve the security crisis facing the country. In the year since Fritz A. Jean, Louis Gérald Gilles, Smith Augustin, Frinel Joseph, Emmanuel Vertilaire, Laurent St-Cyr, Régine Abraham, Edgard Leblanc and Leslie Voltaire usurped the title of president, the country has been plunged into chaos.
“Incompetence should not be rewarded in any way”, warn astute observers on learning that the squanderers of public funds, wearing the label of Presidential Councillors, have sought CARICOM’s help while engaging lobbyists in Washington in order to benefit from an extension in their mandate, which will expire by February 2026. It’s purely and simply an attempt to seize power in order to maintain the status quo and enrich themselves.
Faced with the Presidential Transitional Council, the indifference of former Prime Minister Ariel Henry proved to be the lesser evil. “The members of the CPT are obviously terrorists in the same way as the armed gangs grouped under the Viv Ansanm banner,” admitted an influential politician on condition of anonymity.
Ultimately, the international community must reject Fritz Jean’s request for a mandate extension. These incompetents and incompetents have already served their time. They must be brought to justice for failure to assist a population in danger.
