Under the leadership of Handzup Group, headed by promoter Harry Luc, young talents from the region will be in the spotlight during this edition. Between April 23 and 25, 2021, various activities will be held alongside the festival.
The event kicked off on April 22, 2021 at the Hotel Maguana. Immediately afterwards, the “AYITI DEPLOGE” evening featuring talented musicians delighted the St. Marc public. Mackenson Brutus, Tafa Mi Soleil, Alexa and Shoomy took it in turns to spoil the audience with performances that were more upbeat than the rest.
The following day, the big festivities kicked off on Rue Christophe. The city’s young artists, dance troupes, slammers and rappers were all on hand to prove their talent.
Artist Roody Rood Boy was also on hand, pulling out all the stops with a few hits of his own. His carnivalesque meringue “Ou Mechan” set the space alight.
Jean Jean Roosevelt and his band were the real main course. In unison, the audience sang along to their hits from start to finish. The Jérémie native revisited carnivalesque hits from the 90s, a decision that really made people happy.
It’s the morning of April 24. The CEO of Katkat Game Achiv Mizik, Rémy Certile, gave a talk on “Music in the digital age” at Le Troquet Privert.
Harry Luc’s commitment and enthusiasm for this year’s festival reflects his love for his hometown, according to some observers. On the other hand, Harry and his staff have to work hard to ensure that every logistical and security principle is respected during the festival. The area reserved for journalists is often taken over by individuals who have nothing to do with the press. Indeed, with his reputation as a good stage manager, Harry unfortunately didn’t do the best job of managing the stage on the first day of the festival.
