After 16 years of existence, the Consulate of Haiti in Orlando inaugurated a center for research and information on Haiti in the heart of Florida, this Friday, February 25, 2022.
« 16 years later, the Consulate thinks it has enough maturity to dare to offer other things to the people of its community, alongside the usual services it offers every day, » explains Mr. Herwil Gaspard in his remarks.
The Emile Saint-Lot Library is, above all, a resource and information center for researchers and students (Haitians and foreigners) wishing to learn more about Haiti, he added. And this explains why on its shelves we find subjects specifically affecting Haiti in its poetry, its short stories, its essays and its tales.
Among other projects, a reading and entertainment corner for children from Haitian migration will soon be created to allow them to learn about Haitian culture from their host country or country of birth. A calendar of activities will also be available soon.
